The problem

Most portfolios look the same, and a recruiter gives each one about ten seconds. I wanted one that is an art piece and still answers "who is this and what have they done" before the first scroll.

What I built

• A sky you descend through. The hero is high in the clouds, the footer is the ground.
• Day and night follow your clock, and you can pin either one.
• Every sprite is drawn in code from grids of characters, so the art stays crisp and the page stays light.
• A courier pet that reads along while you type and runs your message to the mailbox.
• Text that moves out of the way of a cloud you can drag, laid out line by line with Pretext.

Decisions that mattered

• Recruiter first: name, role, work and résumé are all on the first screen, and all text is real HTML.
• The scene is layers, not pictures: time, weather and motion are separate settings, so a few assets cover every combination.
• Motion is opt-in, and nothing moves for people who ask their system for reduced motion.
