My watchlist lived in notes, screenshots and my head. I wanted one place to log what I've seen, what I thought of it, and what to watch next. I also used it to learn how to ship a real product with AI-assisted development.
What I built
A movie list with grid and list views, sorting and a watched / not watched filter.
One search bar with two jobs: it filters the films you saved, and when nothing matches it offers to search TMDB.
A preview page for any TMDB film with one-click "Add to vault".
A detail page for each saved film with a star rating, notes and watched status.
Decisions that mattered
Preview before adding: the first brief said "click a result and it is instantly added". In use that caused accidental adds, so a preview step came in.
Nothing resets: search, sort, filter and scroll position survive opening a film, coming back, or reloading the tab.
Edits show up immediately in the list, with small toasts confirming saves.
What's next
Mood and rewatchable tags, TV shows and series, and accounts so friends can keep their own vaults.
